About Us; Hingham's Cub Scout Pack 27, is part of the Cranberry Harbors District of the Old Colony Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are chartered by the Friends of Foster School. Through an exciting and enriching program, we strive to help boys aged 5 - 11 (K through 5th grades) grow to be young men who are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave clean and reverent. Both our Scouts and our parents are committed to developing habits that embody the Scout Oath, the Scout Law and the Outdoor Code.
If you are looking for a place to start (or continue) your family’s Scouting journey, we hope you will consider partnering with us as we raise up the next generation of compassionate young men though our Cub Scouting program.
Our monthly Pack meetings are usually held the third Thursday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Foster School Cafeteria. Cub Scout Pack 27 often holds or sponsors events which may occur on other days. These activities include community service projects such as Scouting for Food, outdoor activities like family camping or the raingutter regatta, overnights in interesting places, and fun activities such as the Pinewood Derby. Den meetings are usually held on weekday afternoons or evenings so as not to conflict with church, school or sports.
Our Mission
Cub Scout Pack 27 is committed to helping our scouts grow up into self-reliant, dependable and caring young men. Since 1910 the Boy Scouts of American (BSA) has been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities that were designed to build character, learn citizenship and develop personal fitness. These elements continue to be a part of Cub Scouting today.
Character development should extend into every aspect of a boys life and as such it should also extend into every aspect of Cub Scouting. Character development should also challenge Cub Scouts to experience core values in six general areas: God, world, country, community, family, and self. With character defined as the collection of core values by an individual that leads to moral commitment and action; Cub Scout Pack 27 strives to use the 12 core values of Cub Scouting: Please see the About us section for further information.
